As it's also my first post Hi
![]() Anyway I've flashed my 250 with Haxorware and downloaded quite a lot of info from here on what to do next, from following the tutorials the modem is setup however it's the mac section which confuses me the most. In DHCP Sniffer I'm not sure exactly what base mac address to put in, I've tried the subbed modems mac and the new flashed modems then scanned, it came up once with 2 macs and bootfiles (both 2meg ones). Also the modem is directly connected to the PC while the scanner is working but it either doesn't work or as above I get a few 2meg configs (seen as I'm paying for 2meg it's pointless using those). Any help would be great. |

depending on what area your in you can use those 2mb macs and force config (bootfiles as dchp sniffer calls it) it doesnt always work but worth a try.
in haxorware, on the config file page full this in... for tftp ip put in 10.137.103.1 and for filename cmreg-ntlhm250-rts22.cm if it connects but boots you straight away let it attempt a few more times. if still no joy, its back to the drawing board. as for dchp sniffer, put one of your 2mb macs in as a base mac and see if you get any rts22's or 01's. if not, change a couple of digits in the 5th set, remember hex is 0-9 and a-f

2 meg MACS are perfectly fine.
What you need to do is force a config like the guy above says. There is a sticky in the main Cable Modem section of the forum which lists the IP addresses of the TFTP server and the names of the different config files. Give them a try and play around with them and you will soon be comfortable with changing between different configs. To force a config in Haxorware you need to enable TFTP enforce bypass or the modem will constantly reboot. Also, one more caveat is that you cannot force configs in all areas. See how you go and good luck! |
