Default Business Configs

Do they get capped by VM?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of using a business config?

Cheers

Just has no caps.

But it has been made ineffective in a lot of places. Such as; used to work for me, but not any more for a while now.

I just stick with the 50 meg config for now why it lasts. I'm gonna miss it when it goes!

Sean, is it safe to use 50Mb config? They don't get capped too?

I guess you have to manually enter a tftp server when using a 50Mb config?

50 meg has no caps at the moment.

You will get around 30 meg in reality.

It's just as safe as forcing any other config. I've been using it since it was available without any problems at all.

The best thing about it IMO is the better upspeed, I'm more interested in that than the downspeed 20 meg is pretty fast for most purposes but the upspeed often leaves a lot to be desired when trying to upload on private torrent trackers.

Is it better to manually enter a tftp server to get max speeds with ambit modem, as the 50Mb config works with haxorware finding the tftp automatically for me too.

The tftp serrver makes no difference. It's all in the config.

Speed is highly dependent upon time of day, local and remote network conditions, remote server load etc....

When I use the 50Mb config it goes to Dosic 1.1 and when using 10Mb or 20Mb config, it goes to Dosic 1.0, is that right???

Sorry mate, you've lost me what do you mean?

You don't have to change anything yourself other than the tftp and the config name, but yes the 50 meg config file is DOCSIS 1.1/1.0 compatible.

Do you only get full 50Mb speeds (up to 30Mb with Ambit 250/255 modems) if the 50Mb service is available in your area?

Im only getting speeds of up to 20Mb and the 50Mb service is not available in my area yet. My upload speed is the same as my 20Mb modem.
