Hi, I have an Ambit 255 that I used to use few years ago until vm forced an update and disabled the p option and I gave up trying to get it working. Will this method restore the p option?

Yes, the first steps of this method describe how to use console unlocker to regain the "p" option.

Dos any one have a Schematic of the cable to max 232.
I am guessing that the cable is Cat 5 with a RG45 at one end the max232 at the other end and rs323 with cable to max232.
like the one at (sodoityourself.com ) or do i need the 5v regulator any help please

Thanks, this should be useful for when I get haxorware up and running.

If you have the 2100 I would highly recommend just using JTAG its a lot simpler than all the messing about with console unlocker etc etc.

with the ambit 256 you would have to change the spi chip over to one that is already flashed with haxorware on it,

you can buy the spi chips on ebay

Ambit 256 Cable Modem Direct Replacement 16mb SPI Chip on eBay (end time 12-Sep-09 12:19:27 BST)

you would need to unsolder the old 1 and swap it with this one then resolder.

I've bought the spi chip stated above so where do u go from here. ive ordered a MAX232 TTL Converter (two actually) 1 has 4 pins and another has 6 pins, (bought the 6 pin one first then noticed that my Ambit 256 has only 4 pins) found a TFTP server, Putty terminal, now need 2.1.6d noisy bootloader. got Soft JTAG and dependencies, (J# and .net 2.0) but still wont work!!, is the process the same as described at the beggining of this post? cheers peeps...
