Default Autoenginuity

Has anyone tested autoenginuity or more to the point speedtracer with an elm based lead? I do not use any elm based products I tend to buy mostly dealer level entry stuff. I am now looking for a way to dyno test obd2 compliant cars before and after chiptuning them, and autoenginuitys speedtracer seems to be the tool for the job. You can download their scantool and speedtracer here for free but to buy the product with hardware is $249 + p&p to uk (not cheep) + import duty. What I want to know is if I can cuy a cheep elm based interface for around £80 (inc carriage) off ebay and it will work with this software?

Hello and happy new year.

got the full package at work but have hardly used it to be honest, we got it from here http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_AUTOPC.html
dont think the elm will work with it and you would need serial aswell, unless theres a k/g about. the elm will work with Digimoto software and im sure that does the dyno test aswell, the problem with the elm interfaces is that there slow to refresh. will check it out when i get back to work as i have a elm there someware.

Cheers Jakefly and a happy new year to you. I have a mate in the states looking for a cheep perhaps secondhand autoenginuity system for me which I think will be the way to go. I wouldn't normally balk at a couple of hundred quid only right at this stage in time I seem to be putting more money back in to the business than I am taking out and if it continues this way the ship is looking like its gonna sink! I will let you know what my mate comes up with.
