nevermind, it wont be the last one you brick! i'm always doing them buy trying something new out things.

its better bricking a £5 modem than a v+ or something.

Yeah I've bricked a few creating new 2mb dumps, by combining downloaded FW images with existing (known good) BPI certs, and non-vol settings.

If i did a lot of modems i'd get a motorola 5101 with JTAG connection, cos that'll run the A250/255 FW fine...unless your bin is bad.

If it is bad, at least you can then restore a good BL to the motorola via JTAG, correct the error in the dump you used, reflash it and try again. All without bricking the ambit the 1st time you fk up.

hi could someone tell me who does the chip lifts as i have 2 ambit 255 modems i would like to revive and dont wont the stress of doing it myself. It looks pretty complicated.
