Default WISI OR 51 COMBO Reciever DVB-C & DVB-T

Hi all,

Please forgive my ignorance, but I am a completely clueless about this.
I have recently bought an apartment in Spain and the management company (Polaris World) are providing a UK FTA feed to all aprtments, however it seems they are charging €400 for the box. I understand these boxes can be picked up for a quarter of this price so I wondered if anyone knows of any version of Dreambox etc. that would do the job for me?
Someone else in my block actually paid for the €400 box and here's what he had to say about the installation.

"I have had my 400€ box installed today. The engineer delivers it, puts in on the shelf, plugs it up to TV and connects to Aerial.
Switch on then enters an engineers pin code to get box working and gives a quick demo how to change channels. Easy.
We now have loads of English TV. (Beware some Channels esp BBC2 dont work till mid afternoon)
Now the Technical Bit the box is a WISI OR 51 COMBO Reciever DVB-C & DVB-T with Multi Language, Fast teletext, Electronic Program Guide, Over the air software updates, Conax CAS7 Decription. (Sure you find specs on the net if need them)
Before you all rush out and buy one the engineer told me PW recieve signal by satellite then encrypt it and send by cable to houses the boxes are bought in bulk and then frequency changed to work with polaris systems.
The box plugs in to the TV Aerial socket on wall not the SAT socket that is reserved for SKY"

Thanks for any help you can give. As I said, I'm not trying to illegally get any premium channels or anything, I just don't want to pay €400 for FTA channels.

I presume it's something like it, but I have no technical knowledge of how this all works. There are two points in the apartment, ariel and sat, and the box was plugged into ariel. I live in Ireland and was actually thinking about borrowing a friends Eurovox to try, but this was a last resort as it would leave him without tv for a week while I sun myself.

Yeah I had a look and couldn't find that model. I can see a 51 on wisi.de, but the guy seems to mention a combo model.
Are you saying you are going out to the Polaris resorts?

Kinpin,
I am in exactly the same situation. I own at the Mar Menor resort. Did you manage to find a technical solution or are you opting for the Polaris digibox?
Any additional info appreciated. I am making my own enquiries too, so lets continue to post and swap notes.
