I,ve noticed I get the same log message when I use a mac which is 20mbit speed cmreg-ntlhm250-rts22.cm

I think its because all the 20mbit macs configs have changed as they are moving to Docsis2.0 so its something in the config which is telling the headend that its still on Docsis1.0.

If any1 is on 20mbit subbed and your area is not 50mbit enabled have a look and see if you get the same message in your logs.

I change my mac to a 2mbit I dont get that message in my logs anymore.
I wouldent be supprised if you have been kicked off that mac by now. (if your using a hacked modem)

EDIT
use cmreg-ntlhm120-rts22.cm config to force with

Using a 200, with a 250 config I always used to get the CVC validation failure.

I believe the 'Code Verification Certificate' Is one of the certificates stored in a stock modems firmware. It is defined by the manufacturer and model of modem you are using, and is stored in your modems firmware...getting overwritten if you flash it with a 2mb dump....but not if you just install the firmware itself (hint).

When you reg on the VM network without valid BPI/BPI+ certificates, the modem is told by the config file to download updates to its firmware / certs securely..using RSA encryption and all sorts of nastiness.

However, to even initiate this secure download, the CVC of your modem is mathematicaly compared to a string in the config file downloaded. If it's a match, the modem attempts to set up the secure download of its update.

If not...either due to hacked FW having the wrong CVC, or say a stock a250 downloading a Motorola config file, validation will fail and the BPI certs will not be updated. This never used to be much of a problem, but with BPI being enforced properly now....that's what's fking us over with the later model configs.

As Toolzkit said, use an A120 config file cos those modems are too ****e to be able to implement any of this, avoiding the whole issue.
cmreg-ntlhm120-rts22.cm

@mr_dell_boy
Your MAC is bad, get a valid mac from a 120/100, don't force anything until you get a proper config during registration on the network...not unreg.cm
When you get a config, then force a 100/120 rts22.

cheers, fitz
