After messing with Console Unlocker and SoftJTag all morning, I finally got the P option back. I flashed the modem with Haxorware using a tutorial I found in the Downloads, everything went fine and after flashing, Hyper Terminal took me back to the main menu (where you select a letter), I unplugged the modem as stated at the end of the tutorial and now my modem is bricked.
Does anybody know why this is happening? Thanks. |

Flashed Haxorware, I selected flash sector 0 which is what I read from the tutorial. I have the power light and a slow flashing ethernet light.

If you flashed to 0 it's bricked.
Bootloader gone. |

Yes. Sector 1 is where the firmware image is stored.

Seems to be a bit of confusion here. If you 'download and save to flash' a valid and correctly sized FW image (1.18mb I think), it won't ask you what sector to store at.
It should ask you the location instead and give a multiple choice...0 for BL, 1 for Image1 etc. If you flash it with a 2mb dump THEN it asks what sector to store at, there will be no choices displayed. For a 2mb dump this should always be 0. If you put 1 here you'd end up with 1 byte of old bootloader followed by the 1st byte of the new BL and it'll all be a fked up mess....and not work. I agree blakey_8 prob accidentally flashed a 1mb HAX image over the BL, just trying to clear it up a bit so no-one tries to flash a 2mb dump starting at sec 1. Blakey, if you'd have used a 2mb dump rather than just the FW file, your method would have worked fine mate. cheers, fitz Last edited by fitz; 14-04-09 at 12:54 AM. |
