I've been operational for over a week, using a router but if i plug modem direct i get vm activation. thru router i get 20mb stable... (even when I use same mac on nic as was on router)
Maybe this is the norm.. But i've looked everywhere and cant find anyhting on it. Haxorware11rev31 settings: tftp enforce bypass - ticked. disable firmware upgrades - ticked. Autoserving a mota4100 rts22 config. I have 10.137.103.8 in force config file ip section but file name blank as its autoserving. BPI Disabled. Using 00028a mac from 8-10 miles away (local macs die after 1 hr tried 100+) Are VM banning something on your NIC that cant be accessed on your router? thus why it is working like this. Tried on 3 different houses locally. they all recieved activation page regardless of having a router ot not Modme identifiers as default for hax11rev31 Sorry is this has already been discussed I couldt find it ( I did look - alot!) Cheers. ps in pure area (notts) Last edited by baked188; 13-04-09 at 10:28 PM. Reason: . |

Everytime I connected modem directly to PC I spoofed the NIC MAC using SMAC. Always VM activation page.
I plug it into router and bang internet stable for a week+. I want to know why I need the router in the middle.. Or more why i get activation page connected directly & internet access via a crappy 'sweex' router.. |

When i used to do 'net tech support for another ISP years ago, sometimes the reg page would get cached on the users pc, even after registration.
If you're on xp i'd try this: start > run > cmd netsh int ip reset blah.txt ipconfig /flushdns delete temp internet files in internet options. Reboot the modem at this point and give it 5 mins to have a word to itself. Open IE+ try going to a page. if no good, try clearing the address bar and JUST entering 209.85.229.103 ................... That's all i can think of that would cause the prob....when connecting via the router, the router is set as a gateway and your PC gets DHCP / DNS details etc from the router, or is maybe even set for static IP. With direct connection, it could be using the DNS resolver cache for any mad server specified in tcp/ip props, instead of a fresh domain lookup....and as you obv had a bad mac before, every domain you tried resolved to the ip of the activation page. ....................... Might work, might not. Won't make it worse tho. cheers, fitz Last edited by fitz; 13-04-09 at 11:54 PM. |

Just saw you said you tried 3 different houses. Disable autoserve, remove ip from TFTP server IP save and reboot.
If you get allocated the config file unreg.cm your MAC is bad, and it's only worked through your router cos it's been doing some 'crazy NAT ****'. cheers, fitz |

I tried flushing dns didnt work, cheers for suggestion thou. This crazy **** my routers NAT is doing is it possable to make the pc network adapter do it somehow?
cheers edit: is there a name for what the NAT is doing to make it possable to work on unreg.cm forcing rts22 cfg, so could download a firmware update or change a setting in other routers? Last edited by baked188; 14-04-09 at 12:47 AM. Reason: ? |
