Hi All,
I was just wondering if anyone can help me.My chipped box has stopped working after about 8 months.I bought it chipped complete with the origanal virgin card (does this mean it is paired). It has the freeview channels (bb1,itv etc)still working but all the sky sports & movies have gone off.Everytime I turn to 1 of these it comes up on screen ( you have not subscribed please contact virgin). Is it a matter of just reprogramming my card or is there more to it.Can I do this myself & what gear would I need to buy? Cheers |

You would need to write the card again, as it seems the card has expired.
Is there any alpha numeric digits written on the underside of the box? If its a Samsung it would start with 3E followed by 6 more digits and then another 16 digits. 12 then 6 more on a Pace. You would need a mosc card reader to read the card to get the box details to write a new card. There is a cable guide or bible you could read as it would give you a better insight in how to to do things. For now you can search, reading a mosc, writing card, box key, ird. Read the posts whcih come up and it will give you a better idea on how to. hope this helps. |

The rights and expiry dates need updating on the card. As said above, you will need a Phoenix programmer that can operate at 3.68MHz to read your card (aka a MOSC). You will also need a program called Nagra Edit to read the card and alter the dates.

TMC sells a Phoenix programmer, you can get Nagra Edit from the Private FTA download scetion. If the card has been programmed before then all you need is a programmer.
