Jumpy picture

Hi all, its been a while since I been around. I got a EX5000PVR back in December and had bad picture, jumping pixeling etc. I had always assumed the signal strength was too strong so for the last 3 months or so I been trying to sort this out.
So far I have had a 0-20 db variable attenuator, ntl 0-10 fixed attenuator, new splitters, new scart lead, tried to connect it in RF out also.
So I just about gave in yesterday figured I'd never get the box to work properly and decided to use it upstairs on a 15-20 year old 14" portable and much to my amazement it worked properly on all chanels, no pixeling jumping etc. So my next theory was that the line downstairs must be no good and to prove this theory I brought the portable downstairs to connect the box up and again it worked perfectly.
At this point Im completly stumped as the issue seems to pointing towards my TV which is a Hitachi 50" plasma? So I ring the guy who I bought it off to check if there was a way that the eurovox just didn't like certain TV's and he wasn't aware of any. Since I have had the box working properly on a TV it kinda ruled out me sending the box back as faulty, I dont want to replace my TV either so Im hoping someone can help me with this please.

The only difference I can figure out is that your 50" Plasma TV probably isnt earthed to mains, where as your 14" Portable probably is .. The EV boxes dont ground to earth either via the mains..

You could try running an RF lead from the plasma TV's antenna socket into a DVD player or VCR (assuming one of these grounds to mains earth) .. Ya never know, giving the plasma a Path to earth instead of just back down the cable into the box and earthing into VM's earth path.. Worth a shot eh... Im just sort of assuming it may be a Earth Ground Loop thingie majiggy wot sit interference problem hitting your EV box when connected to the Plasma.. I might well be totally wrong though, lol ..
