Hi all,
I never owned a satellite dish in my life and I have no idea where to start when I shop around - so you will have to forgive my silly questions. Anyway, my situation is as follows. I'm from sunny Mauritius and my wife is from snowy white Russia and we have been living in grey London for a long time now. We have been using Virgin TV until now but want to switch to satellite. I've been contemplating getting a sky freesat installed (Sky is currently offering install + dish + receiver and I could drop the subscribed channels afterwards) but then I came across some of the threads on this forum talking about French TV. Having French and Russian TV would be extremely convenient when the in-laws come and visit. Is it possible to get a 3 in 1 system that I can install myself? What do I need out to look for? If not, there seems to be lots of threads about the French switching to new system. What would I need to do to get both UK and French freesat? (Since there are loads of free Russian TV online already) Your help is much appreciated. Thx JY |

Hi and welcome
You can get the channels by using a Technisat Multitenne dish, this will work very well in London and is only 45cm square and can get satellites at 28.2, 23, 19 and 13 east, covering English (Freesat) French and Russian TV, for the latter you will need a subscription card for some of the French and Russian channels. The dish costs around £140 Hope this helps?

There are a handful (10 or so) of Russian language channels on 13E all FTA and more if you choose to take a subscription.

Go for the Technomate TM5400CI+ Super at £80 this will allow you to get the free channels and also take a viewing card for Pay TV later on, or a HD receiver starts from £145 for the MVision HD200. Yes set up is fairly straight forward and you will find plenty of help here at Techwatch
