Hi toolzkit thanx for your continued support i didn't know there was more to flash on the sb past 2mb how would i go about using a bigger flash file??? if there's other areas of the modem that can be flashed then its definitely something in one of those areas thats gone wrong i figured a 2mb flash was everything. ive not tried to restore anything like the bootloader ect.

you just use "write all" tab, saying that I have never had to use a whole flash, but if your having probs its gota be worth a try eh?

aaaargh disaster again everything was fine with a flashed ambit250 brand new that i was using in place of my SB then all of a sudden the net goes down again after a weeks use and now ive got this limited or no connectivity problem i have with my SB but on the ambit, now i carnt connet to the ambit to check the haxoware webserver page can VM kill modems???

Ive not tried flashing the ambit250 again with hax 2mb file to see if it brings it to life again with a max232 cable but if its anything like whats been going on with my SB here, then i think i might have to stay away from clones til someone finds a deffinitive sollution and actually gets proper info on whats going on with the VM network right now, as im scrapping modems.

@ Toozkit, 8mb will be a RAM dump, rather than flash mate...not much point writing direct to the RAM.

@ Reptilianman, set your NIC IP to 192.168.100.10, then you should be able to get into the modem...it's probably just failing to allocate an IP to the NIC with DHCP.

You can use the haxorware 0.2 fix on the SB5101e...the 2mb flash does include the bootloader and everything you need, just save it to 0 with max232.

To get it to work on the SB, you just have to set 'annex' to 'Docsis' on the haxorware frequency settings page once you're done flashing

cheers, fitz
