that ranging error has nothing to do with the command, you people again just jump to conclusions on the first thing you see
Haxorware DOES NOT give this message, unless you disable it in the nonvol, there is no room for debate here, i don't care if you invented docsis and are the god of electricity. You are just flat wrong, and arrogant with it.

RE software download disable, it does not work correctly. Just because 'tom told you how to do it' doesn't mean you didn't **** up the implementation. Why does 5100 mod work when hax doesn't? (simplistic and childish way of putting it, but i don't care). Because you have made a mistake.

I would never get angry about flaws in someones work usually, but the manner in which you've spoken to people here has really ****ed me off.

Code:
#define SnmpThreadName "SNMP Thread"
            else
            {
                real_printf("Suspending %s\n",SnmpThreadName);
happens if GetParamBool(CAT_SNMP,SNMP_SUSPEND) == true

it doesnt say it if you did run_app or something, and the snmp thread is already suspended

has nothing to do with nonvol values

diag_disable_snmp_whatever doesnt even do anything post 2.3.x.x fatsh

The fact remains mate that the FW does not print "Suspending SNMP Thread" unless you set it in nonvol. The thread is not suspended when you check it in taskShow either.

Neither does 'disable updates' prevent dload establishing a connection and downloading data, despite what you said earlier.

Instead of quoting functions at me, you need to check this.

cheers, fitz

and by dload i meant the one in /docsis , not the one in /ip
if you try the one in /docsis while upgrades are disabled it will do nothing at all

I can't get it to do it again at the mo mate. Don't really want to go to the length of reflashing back my bad image.

Previously, snmp was not suspended... binding to 161 and 162 even with steath ports spec'd, sw download from config would try to dl and give errors with bpi23 disabled...just cvc errors when enabled.

If i was making it up i'd just edit a log in notepad and say ha! but i'm not.

snmp now suspending correctly with diag disable* 0'd in non-vol. I was on r30 at the time.

cheers, fitz
