Question Problem with Pace 4000 box

Basically dug an old box out of the loft it hasn't been turned on for a couple of years.
Reprogrammed Atmega card with latest fix plugged in box and firstly box updated to latest firmware etc as lots of numbers were seen on front of box.
All went well on that front.
Put in card and all working.
Decided to put this box downstairs but had to run a coax in .
I plugged coax into 3 way splitter and plugged into box problem is box no longer working. Can only get bbc1 bbc2 etc no sky sports etc.
I know it isn't a card issue as if i plug it back in upstairs all channels work.Could it be a problem with loss of signal and if so is their anyway of putting some kind of inline booster device to solve the problem.
Any ideas on what to try?
Many thanks

Yes, remove the splitter and try it.

Question Re: Problem with Pace 4000 box

Can't get to grips why it should work upstairs though!
Only thing i think it could be is that the cable outlet box in my bedroom is wired as follows.
Incoming off street into 3 way splitter in external box, where one cable goes straight to upstairs bedroom and then one cable through the wall to downstairs.
The cable downstairs then goes into the cable company white box, where then a smaller peice of cable came out and went straight into my cable box.
This is where i put in another splitter.
Basically took cable out of cable box put into the IN,Then ran two OUTPUTS,one back to downstairs tv then one in kitchen area.
The kitchen area is where the problem lies(new coax position).
Is there any kind of booster i can use?
Can i pick these up in say Argos etc?
Where do i need to connect it?

Many thanks for all help given.
Cheers

Hi

You could try the slx1 from argos if it improves signal and works then fine if it dont you can take it back.

You connect between problem box and feed in kitchen as I think thats where the box is being used.

Regards

Tried connecting box straight into into cable feed without splitter and it works perfect!
So i reckon its definately a signal strength problem.
Any recommendations on a signal amplifier to use to connect up 2 boxes?

Update:
Sorted it!!!!!
Went and bought a cheap tv/fm signal booster from Tesco of all places about 8 quid.
Took out the cable splitter, pluggen in via the booster and hey presto all is now working.

Thanks for everyone who gave advice.

As we told you over in the forum you need to use a splitter and extra cable , You can by the connectors from flea-bay or buy ready made lengths of cable from Lincsat in the classified section.

Try not to create multiple posts mate , This is frowned upon and could lead to you getting a warning from the mods !!
