Hi Guys,
Things are working out wellish with the softcam solution and I'm starting to look at hardcam stuff. Reading around it seems like it isn't all that hard but there is some confusing stuff and gaps in the details. Lets say I've got myself a blue (Icecrypt or Zeta) CAM with Joker and a funcard 5 and I have myself a usb smartcard reader. It seems that there are instructions as to what to do with the smartcard re software and stuff but the same thing keeps coming up - The cam and the card have to have the same box key. How do you get a box key? It seems that people use the box key from their digital box. Am I correct and how is this done? I have a Sammy 2100c cheers |

Hi, I think you should have posted you question in Cable TV Chat, but if you can follow this UK Cable >> Private FTA >> Some Download Links >> Other Cable TV then you’ll need to copy and paste into your browser then you will get all sort of download (everything to do with cable boxes) including instructions of how to obtain BK from your receiver and what to do with it.
Good Luck M8.

Holy Cow! yes... the noobs guide to the sammy does cover this but you have to hack your box!?! Is there no way to get the boxkey off of the viewing card or through some menu? do you have to use the box key from your reciever or what?

The cam will have it's own BoxKey.. You need to look that up on your Cam Interface (CI) and use that when programming your Funcard.
Alternatively you can change the boxkey on the cam to whatever one is programmed on the card. |
