Default Technimate 5500ci

I am after some advice
i have just bought a 2nd hand technimate 5500ci but no cam in and i cannot put a smart card in becasue it has ni interface.
can this unit take a cam and what one is best to use it does have 2 ci slots.
can the unit be patched

there are no patches now for that model mate, in fact the patches
for the latest tm receivers are not opening many providers channels
now that most have changed encryption, you can use a cam in your receiver
the best supported cam is the diablo cam, but there are no gaurantee's
for files. but this is the same for anything other than paying a subscription.
and remember you also need a cas 3 programmer to load files on the cam
and both items will cost over £100. it's up to you if want to get the cam and
programmer. it is very easy to program and opens a lot of channels mainly on
astra 19e and thor 1w at this time.
