They would be able to tell you havnt got your VM box plugged in though, but whether they actually check of even if it matters or not is, ummmm, errrrrr, I dunno.. But most people feel safer leaving their VM box connected aswell, just in case, peace of mind and all that..

get a cheapo tv set and keep your old box plugged in via a splitter. That way you can watch a different channel on your 2nd set. I just keep sky sports news on my 2nd set while watching football on the main one.

why not use it in another room and get some use out of it, or if you prefer keep both connected in the same room as the epg on legit box is far superior.

TBH, all my boxes are Pace 4001's (one subbed, two not) and the subbed one happens to be the slowest and most unreliable of them all.

The subbed one freezes up from time to time, often needs rebooting if left alone for a day or so, and the epg is slow as hell.

Both my modded ones are lightning fast in response, need only one reboot a week, if that, and only then to get back that super fast response time.

I would assume that is because your 2 modded boxes have talkback cut and are basically just receivers now, your legit box however is maintaining 2 way comms via the reverse path and as such will run slower and need rebooting more often. Needless to say none of this is of any relevence to the OP's question...

I realise the little relevence, just a thought I had had is all.

Thanks btw, I hadn't thought about the talkback being a reason for it being so slow, I felt it was probably due to is age, we have had that one 9 years now, its practically falling apart, front plastic casing doesn't stay on the box half the time, so constantly suffer remote issues, but the missus doesnt want VM round to change the box!

Can't win with that one, lol!

another room would be good but i like having them both together to keep an eye on the scores on sky sports news.

2 weeks ago I had the scotland game on my big tv (sky sports 1) and England v Ukraine on my smaller one (itv) then had a small gathering in the flat with a few cans of beer to watch both games at once.

simples lol
