Hello.... im new pls be gentle..Eurovox 7000hd ques.

Hello All ....AS title says im new, well sort of i have been lurking on this site for many a year but have just decided to pull my finger out and register....pls be gentle lol.....Now to my question i have read up on the eurovox and i am ready to buy one today, before i do 3 quick questions, sorry if it has been covered but i cant find my answer after doing a search.

1) Has there been a software fix to enable 5.1 input to my onkyo amp via hdmi? or must/can i use optical?

2)has there been any software fixes yet for channel sorting issues?

3)does it sound like a plane taking off like the v+ box does?

goags, thanks for the reply, i may have to think again then, no 5.1 even through optical cable! I take it you have bought one? whats your impressions?

decisions, decisions......decisions, what to do, need a new box today as i got rid of my vmax2008 which ran like a dream, never had any issues @ all , just the odd update, i have it on good notice that hd channels are on virgin at the end of MAY!(i believe it) 3 channels, so i thought id take the plunge and get on of these boxes, now i would like to use my onkyo amp and speakers with the eurovox 7000hd after all they cost me a bit of dosh so i dont want them as orniments, i dont mind buying one now and waiting if there is going to be a software update for this issue, can anybody confirm this?

The box is capable of giving digital 5.1 sound via HDMI and via the Optical outlet but the standard STBs are not capable of 5.1 so it is not available in the cable transmissions.

If you connect via your Onkyo you will get the standard Dolby Prologic stereo.

Jimdefruit, Thanks very much for clearing things up for me, i have also done some searches and there seems to be new software updates for other issues(channel lists, epg etc).......guess its time to get the wallet out....
