![]() I have XP Pro and Media, service pack 3. No probs now Joe, yea I know it's a pain in the arse reinstalling an operating system but if yer got the time then whack xp on yer pc cos Vista is awfull, I done 3 pc's and a lappy since christmas for people who had vista on and they had all sorts of problems, now thier pc's behave propper and no problems, get it on, yer'll be glad u did honest. A final point here though, this guy who said he's stickin his tupence in, no prob mate cos you got an opinion too and I welcome any feedback on my comments but u got me wrong mate, I don't intend to **** any one off, I just give an honest comment and if I say something wrong I will appologise if I upset anyone BUT please yer gotta accept that I am only trying to help people with problems and I will continue to help anyone else who is stuck andd vice versa, if I'm stuck and I have been then I will post for help. I been on this site years and there is not 1 person who I could say I don't like on here, just accept that in some of my post I try to brighten things up with a little bit of fun in some of my comments and there is no malice meant in any of them. If I'm flashing a box for a mate then I take my lappy to thier place and it don't have a serial port so I just use a rs32 to a usb and they work just has good, if yer wanna use a lappy for flashing then usb to rs32 needs drivers, I got mine on internet about 2 years ago for about £6 and it came with a cd with drivers on.
where you have to be carefull is that most lappys have about 4 usb ports on so once yer set it up on a lappy, always use the usb port that you first install the drivers on the usb, so when yer got it installed remeber which usb port to use. Like Ronster says, usb converters are really good if you set them up right, because not everyone has a pc and lots of people just have a lapy but like I said they are just as good once you have set them up correctly

Just a quickie to hope all you guys havin probs with flashing issue's, just read all threads and do as they say and yer'll get them up and running cos theyr'e not that hard, once yer done one then put a little read me file on yer pc for future refs on how yer did it (I always put a read me I make up when doing boxes (all types, Euro's, cards, dboxes starviews or wotever) cos when I do a box 6 months later then I gone an forgot how I did it when doing them again) so if yer a dumbhead like me then yer can just look at yer readme yer made up and then no probs.
Also please don't take some of my replies and coments serious cos like I said earlier I just like to have a bit of fun in some of my postings. The only time I get in a bit of a mood when I post some coments is when I get out of the wrong side of the bed, If I get out on the right side then this is the wrong side cos the right side of me bed is up against the wall and I end up walking in me wall (ouuuucccccchhhhhh) so I will have to get out a me bed on the left side in future cos this is the right side to get out a me bed and then I won't get out of the wrong side and open a can a worms and upset people. So got it now, in future I must get out a me bed on the left side and then I will have got out a me bed on the right side, Bloody glad I ain't got a bunk bed. Hope yer can all folow this cos I can't, all comments welcome. Alan (AKA jambutty) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() :e vil:

Okay, a step in the right direction. I've swapped out the bag of sh**e null modem that was shipped with my usb-serial adaptor for a more robust cable that I purchased from Amazon. This time, rather than "The downloading is not requested" I received "download failed", after the downloader hung around at 'downloading 0%' for around 15-20 seconds. When the download wanted to begin my box issued a green light on the display for 12 or so seconds, then to 'ON' and then finally 0000 as the download failed.
Any thoughts? I feel closer ha ha!
