Help needed - Dragon Cam black screen for NDS no other channels decrypted

Hi,

This is my first post, I have been lurking for some time trying to get my sat solution up and running but I think that I have hit a wall, or a defective CAM.

My set up is a Digital Everywhere FireDTV-S2 connected to a Mac using EyeTV.

I have a dish with 3 LNB's pointed at 19˚, 23.5˚ and 28.2˚ (will add another eventually for 13˚) using Disecq switching (EyeTV does not support motors).

All FTA channels work perfectly, however, I would like to get C4 HD and any other channels that the Dragon could open. I have a S*y box that hadn't been plugged in for about 3 years, but I read somewhere that the card is still good for FTV. So that is the source of my card.

I updated the Dragon cam to the latest Predator 3.69 from ^^Compass^^, inserted the CAM in the FireDTV, I can see the Dragon menu in the CI menu, however when I tune to one of the encrypted Five's or Channel 4 HD I get nothing.

I also thought that I should be able to decrypt 'some' other channels on 19.2˚ or 23.5˚ but I can't find any that will open up.

Strangely enough, I have had more success with my softcam Eyetvcamd which is able to open up nearly all the KD channels on 23.5˚ using a softcam.key.

Could someone please tell me if there is some step I am missing? Is there a channel that I could try that for sure should work with the Dragon? Or could it be that I have bought a defective Dragon from eBay?

You won't open anything NDS unless you have a valid subscriber card inserted into the Dragon Cam.

If your card hasn't been used for so long it will no longer be valid. You could try inserting it into the Sky box and leave it on BBC1 for 24 hrs or so which may then open the encrypted free to view stuff but nothing else. You won't have long anyway with your Sky card as they will be starting a card swapout soon which will render the Sky blue house card useless in probably the next 4-5 months.

You may have to buy a new fressat from Sky card to continue viewing after this time.

As far as i am aware CH4 HD is part of the HD package that you have to subscribe to, so i doubt you will get that anyway on a FTV card.

The only stuff that i am aware of that may still be open on the Dragon cam is Digi TV on 1w and maybe the Rai stuff on 13e.

As far as i am aware there isn't much more open. No idea about the stuff on 23.5e as i rarely ever go there.

Channel 4 HD is ftv,and is viewable on any ex-subscription card or FreesatfromSky card.
It is viewable,with a Dragon CAM,however,it does appear at the moment that there is some sort of glitch,where it not viewable but does become viewable after a while,or try rebooting your receiver,several times if need be and it should become viewable,sooner or later.

I have tried leaving the card in the sky box for 48 hours left on BBC one and still nothing on the dragon cam with eyeTV.

What channel should be FTV on a sky box with a working yellow house card?

Five,Five US,Fiver,Sky 3,Channel 4 HD,and some International channels e.g Geo Tv,Geo News,AAG,and others.
You could try updating the Dragon CAM to the latest Predator version by KM,as they seem to be the most compatible with NDS.

Geo Geo News & AAG may have ftv periods but they arent ftv most of the time.

Channel 4 HD (HD box only of course)

The cards also regionalise the sky box so you get the correct BBC & ITV regions, and the correct advert macro region on C4 / +1 ands Five

Its quite obvious that once the C5 family of channels go fta Sky ftv cards will not be needed.
