I looked at getting a freesat box, but i got confused when i read all these posts with all this stuff in to me which is meaningless

E.G

BBC Prime 9E

11996V
SR:27500
FEC:3/4

Guessing thtas to manually put in a certain channel? If so can this be done on any FreeSat box?

Also looks like i can't use my normal Arial looks like i need a FreeSat dish?

Get yourself a Freesat box and you can forget the other channel parameters like that BBC Prime one - that was a new channel operating on 9E, and nothing to do with the UK services on the 28E satellite cluster.

You need a satellite dish installing if you want Freesat - either contact a local independant installer to put you one up, or Freesat will do it for about 80 quid

Ok thanks, so whats all that about then? Is that people with certain boxes can input that data to get that channel?

Only if you have a motorised dish or one or more dishes pointing at different broadcast satellites.

Some of us have elaborate multi satellite systems and have thousands of channels to look at. For example Ive currently got 5 dishes giving me access to 8 sets of satellites!
