Default 8% signal level/quality

Has anyone had this problem with an 8% signal level/quality? Most channels are pixelated and jumpy. I have up to date firmware and power-scanned last night because some channels had started to go jumpy.

There used to be quite a lot of talk about it some time back,8% is never going to be good enough to get a good signal you need something like 80% ...the best thing to do would be to get a signal booster from Argos and try that, lots of members have had success using one .....Its worthwhile checking all your connections though it could be one of them causing it,have you tried with the incoming cable connected directly to the Eurovox? this would rule out any of your connections being faulty of course ...if the signal was ok when connecting direct..........

yeah, you need to go round and check your connections. make sure no outer braid is touching the inner.

reflash box with the software for 8% signal fix if your connections are ok.

Thumbs up Re: 8% signal level/quality

After you flash with the 8% signal fix software you may need to add an attenuator what this basically does is reduces your signal strenght because your level/quality may be up in the 90's.A variable attenuator can be bought off fleabay for about £6.Screw the attenuator on to your cable line then screw on the rf connector.Hope this helps.

Yeh I connected it to the main feed downstairs and all channels were fine. I think the connections are a bit dodgy where the plugs are put on the cable ends, going to recheck them. Where can I download the 8% fix from. I've a Eurovox Max Red.

The 8% signal fix is for the phase 1 max Vs not the red boxes

This would indicate that there isnt a problem with your box...just the cables and connections

Hi, I'm stu and new to this digital malarky. i'm pretty clued up on the computer side of things but tv is new to me.

i have just received a eurovox 1000sl. at first my signal level was jumping from nothing to 30. after a few minutes it stuck at 8. I dont get any channels on this level. I have tried black and also white coxail wire both just 1 meter long. They come direct from the feed.

i bought a booster from argos but it's a push in fit not a screw in.(schoolboy error no1)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. i know a nubie asking a question is frowned upon by some but i will be active on this forum as i like to know whats going on.

cheers stu

ps. i had heard it could be a faulty box.

just as a side note. Would the signal jump from 0 to 30 then settle at 8 because the feed is dead or would that leave no signal at all. is there a way of testing the cable tv feed to make sure it is active. just wondering.

cheers stu
