Just wondering if you do mess with a VM receiver, cant you just buy a used one(same model) and when they come fob that off to them?

no because virgin media boxes has serial number which are diffrent for every boxes and when you buy something on demand its get charged by the number! so incase if they check the box they will know that this is not thw box they supplied!
