Hi guys! My younger brother is looking to get a pay monthly phone but we're struggling to find a good deal. All the 12-month free deals have disappeared and they only seem to have deals on 24-month contracts which I feel are too long. So, I'm just wondering if anyone knows any place I can get a really good pay monthly deal? All advice and comments are appreciated. Thanks in advance guys! Kimi.

Networks still offer 12 month contracts if you don't go to third parties, such as Phones 4 U, or Carphone Whorehouse.
Go direct to the company, who'll protect you more than the crappy dealers, and simply ask for 12 months. Both Orange and Vodafone offer these, and if 18/24 is too long, go for a Sim Only, at least you pay for the phone when you want to change. Sim only then means you get a discounted rate, somewhat beating some other offers available. But do shop about, since a lot of companies are now beating each other. Essentially though, no one network will gain from you joining, since the market is now flooded with networks and customers now. Another handy hint, don't get aggressive because i've told you this, just stick to your guns and be polite, since the more eager you seem to a sales person, the easier they will become with a sale. The more aggressive you become the quicker they want you out. Try and mould them to your needs, and you'll never know, you could walk out with phone, decent contract and extras. I've known it to happen personally, and I see it daily. Happy hunting. |

This is the worst advice i've ever heard! CPW are only good for taking your money.
No real customer service, and all their "repairs" are done by the manufacturer. Go straight to the network, they'll cover you so much better! I've worked for two networks as a CSR, and all 3rd party companies are the biggest pain in the ass, not only for the network but for the customer. Networks directly will cover you for better insurance at a lower cost, for instance the one I work for now if we confirm your phone is faulty, we'll deliver a replacement handset to you within 24hrs (if before 2000hrs). Their insurance is brilliant, £6 per month, and it covers you for loss, theft and damage, plus the warranty. If you need to claim on the insurance its a £15 set admin fee. CPW mearly send the phone off for repairs, then tell you to contact the network when they give up. I've also been dealing with Intek customers recently where they've been pulled into the shop, got a contract in good faith, then been cut short for any support. So please, go direct. I don't earn anything from saying this, and at the end of the day its your decision, but my honest advice, is direct. Sim-only deals are good if you already have a phone, and wanting a cheap deal, but this means if your phone dies, you've no cover unless you're within the manufacturers warranty. |
