I am based in the South of France and have an FTA box that accesses many channels. We had Sky on the Astra 1 satellite all set up but have had a mesage stating that it will no longer be avaialble on this satellite and we have to re tune to:
Transponder 57
Freq 10832 Mhz
Polarity H
Symbol Rate 22.0
FEC 5/6
SID 61969

When I do this (using the Astra 1 satellite) I get the usual ITV channels but no Sky News coming up. Ist this the right tuning or am I going of rthe wrong satellite?

I've done it OK with those parameters. It is now called "SKY NEWS INTL". If you use these numbers on Astra 2 you will get ITV channels. I guess you are trying to tune in to the wrong satellite. Check that you are tuning to Astra 1 - Good luck!

Your dish is not pointing at Astra 1 if you are getting the ITV channels, they are on Astra 2

Firstly decide which satellite you wish to use, point the dish the right way and scan the appropriate transponder for it.

LyngSat - Lyngemark Satellite has all the details.

The channel search facility on kingofsat may come in useful too.
