Check out VM's website:

Virgin Media Shop - : Broadband, on-demand cable TV, home & mobile phones

There is a postcode checker there, as Rawsy said, it'll allow you to select your actual house/flat number and will tell you accurately if they can install.
If not, there is always the sales line, who can send out a rep who can see if they can install (did this in a property years ago, charged me nothing to have it installed, considering they had to dig up the pavement, plus lay a load of cable down just to get it into the house).

Not bad, considering they'll charge you the earth later.

Your better off weighing all your options first, and if you do decide to get VM installed, make sure if you accept their router, your not one of these n00b's who get it and install it, without securing it!
Forever dealing with customers who've been "hacked", when it turns out they know sweet FA about the product they own*.

Not to mention, VM will also frown upon people who own, use and utilise home servers from outside the standard home network.

*All products shipped and installed by VirginMedia are all owned by VirginMedia.
Upon suspension, cancellation, relocation they will collect the products - AKA you own nothing of theirs.
