This is what you need to do in order to mod your box, read through the steps but don't touch your box until you know what you are doing (note that I have highlighted all the useful words in this post to help you understand more ):

1) You need to unloop the card using an Unlooper which will then allow you to read it.

2) You then need to read the card to get the BK and IRD (it's a good idea to write them on the box once you have them), if the BK starts with 6D 56 then the box is useless because the BK is fake. Once you have these numbers, the card needs programming with a working image for your area (Pure, Ex C&W or TW). You will need a programmer that operates in 3.68MHz Phoenix Mode to program the card.

3) Finally, you need to cut talkback inside the box (it's a small capacitator located towards the back of the tuner inside the box, it is numbered "R202") or fit a noise filter which will stop the box "talking" back to VM.

All this information you need is on the forum, just use the search feature and you will find what you are looking for .

aidy, r202 is a resistor, if it was a capacitor, it would be c202
