openmedia 500cs

I have a openmedia 500cs reciever which im using with an existing sky dish and am still subscribed to sky but ive taken the sky box out and put in this receiver, scanned for channels which i have. But the channels that come through sky are locked is there any way of unlocking these channels??

No-you can't hack Sly unless you have a Sky card that you want to put in this box-Have a look into some "dodgy" forums

Presuming its a dreambox clone you need to install one of the cams that reads nds cards. Try whatever the latest version of CCCam is - that should read your sky card no problem.

how u get the latest version of CCCam??

It should do, yes.

When I last played with a Linux box, all the Cams etc were available from one of the receiver menus, it was able to download the latest using it's internet connection.

Is your box correctly connected to a router via an ethernet cable?

Is the networking set up on it?
