I swapped one of my second hand 80cm dishes for a Fraccaro 85cm..
I didnt see any improvement whatsoever, although the shape is pretty cool

I have to agree with you on that one AS. I have been tempted to shove my 1m Orbital back up
![]() At least with that i could get 16e with no BER and every now and then i even managed to get a sniff off 7w ![]() Cant really say i'm that impressed with the Penta ![]() I have to agree it does look good, although it doesn't perform aswell as a 1m dish as some claim ![]() ![]() Nano

Thanks chaps.
I was considering replacing my Triax 88cm, but I don't think I would see any improvement. Some people seem to think that they are better than a 90cm on strong sat/transponders, but weaker signals such as 16e seem no better, and according to some, worse on the Fracarro Penta 85 - which rather defeats the object. Like you say - its a nice looking dish, but I don't object to the neighbours looking at my ugly one. I don't charge anything.

Well in my opinion for what it's worth, they do perform as good as most budget 1m dishes (orbital).
Having installed around 40 of the Penta dishes, I've been impressed with the performance especially on 16e. Careful alignment will be required. Last edited by satelliteman; 06-02-10 at 09:24 AM. |
