I have ordinary sky dish and box to watch free chanels and watch mainly the asian chanels. If I get a freesat box and use a splitter to split the signal between the two boxes. Would this be possible?

Why do you want two boxes? The Sky box will get all the free channels anyway.
But if you want Freesat in another room, or need two boxes for some other reason you can't split it. You need to get a quad LNB for your sky dish and run an extra cable.

I believe you can, yes, although I don't have a Freesat box, there is the facility to tune into non Freesat channels.

You can manually tune the channels in non freesat mode you have to enable this in the menus m8.
Also you can loop the sat signal threw the freesat stb to the sky box |

Via the lnb loopthrough. You can only use one box at a time if you do that, and the loop box must be in standby

Note, not all the Freesat receivers have a LNB out.
The Humax Foxsat doesn't. The Alba/Bush/Goodmans receivers do,but many people have complained, that it doesn't work satisfactorily, all the time. I would definately advise getting a Quad Lnb and getting another feed to the Freesat receiver,as already advised. As switching from Freesat to non Freesat,is a pain, especially for something that is in daily use. Also remember, that all the Asian channels won't be grouped together,on a Freesat receiver,as found on a Sky digibox, unless you manually group them. Last edited by SAT-WORLD; 03-05-09 at 08:25 PM. |
