3) I have opened the following file ‘TW.bn11’ with nagra > data editor >
Data Space and edited the bk to match my zeta cam (joker 0.79) and saved the file as ‘TW.bin’
4) So now I have a ‘TW.bin’ (which I created) and a ‘CryptHexTW-v3.hex’
(found in the archive downloaded from chatterbox)
5) Next I load up the Cas Interface Studio > Smartcard > Card Programmer - with only the card inserted into the cas3+
6) Click Erase
7) Load the ‘CryptHexTW-v3.hex’ file in the “flash memory” box and load
the ‘TW.bin’ in the “External EEprom” box, click Write and it completes it
with no errors
8) Load FireDTV Viewer, run a new channel scan, find over 300 channels but only the FTA ones work, so I left it on SKY Sports for an hour and it did not update

Any ideas on what I’m doing wrong?

Cheers
Which version of the CryptTW-v3.hex file have you got.? They are dated..

I've tried 3x different flash files:

chaos V3 TW.HEX
TW_CHAOS_FUN_FIX_271108.HEX
CryptHexTW-v3.hex

only the chaos one was dated.

The November 08 one is the one i'm using, and is working fine.

The only other think i can think of is that either the IRD or BK is perhaps wrong on your card...? I know that one of them has to be entered backwards onto NagraEdit.. Can't remember which though. mine was all 0's so i didn't have that problem.

I have an IceCrypt Cam and the default IRD that works with that is "00 00 00 00" (All Zero's) if that doesn't work you may have to get in touch with whoever you got the cam from to find out what it is set to.. There are ways to read the Cam to find out what they are but i don't know how to do them myself.

The BK and the IRD have to match the card.. i.e. you have to program the funcard with the IRD and BK in NagraEdit to march your Cam.

You can change the IRD number in NagraEdit, it's above the Box Key.

Some basics

Make sure you got the card the correct way up in the Cam. Also have you ticked the Cam enable in TV server configuration for MP. You should be able to run a preview direct from the TV server. Also you should be able to view green channels with the cam unplugged for troubleshooting.

I followed this thread. Skip to the first post as its a great summary.

Funcard Tutorial

There are a few stickies in the general section. Just makeup the IRD and boxkey for DVB-C

Hi, thanks for the advice, I am not currently testing the system using mediaportal tvserver as yet, just the firedtv viewer as I want it to be up and running before I embark on the in-depth mediaportal settings.

I’ve searched through the Private FTA section and the tutorial thread link you posted however it either all leads back to what I have done already or is non related as they are using different cams/funcards/boxes instead of dvbc… feels like I’m just going round in circles.
If anyone currently using the same setup as me could send me their funcard files that would be great J

***update***

its all up and running, it was the firedtv viewer that was at fault... after preview channels with Mediaportal tvserver config it works fine

Thanks for all your help
