Default don't know where to start?

Hi all,

firstly i would like to apologise if any questions in my post have been covered already, however i have spent the last month building my tvserver and searching through this forum and google to get things going but with no luck.

I manage to source a floppydtv dvbc, zeta cam flashed with joker 0.79, and a funcard. all of which are second hand (installed on a XP SP3 machine). i am in an ex TW area, when scanning i get 183 channels (170 odd which are scrambled). Now comes the hard bit (well for me anyway)... I have no idea whatsoever how to unscramble the channels.

What do i actually do to the CAM and FunCard?

(i also have a cas3+ programmer with the latest version of CAS Studio)

Thank you

first u need to find out the bk on the cam, prob the default joker bk. Use cas studio utilities to check. u then need to get a fun au img for ex tw and the au flash. use nagraedit to edit the img so the bk of img and cam are the same.....save the img, change the extension to .bin....use this as ur exteep and the au flash to program the card using the cas 3+.....switch onto encrypted channel and let kys update.

cheers

All the files you need are in the download section of this forum.. or go to the "Files" section of the chatterbox toolbar and they are in there.

Thanks for your patience, I understand that noobs like myself can drive mods/seniors round the bend!

Just to recap and for any other newbies following this thread.

Hardware:
Windows XP SP3 TVserver
FloppyDTV DVB-C
Funcard4 (Galaxy2)
CAS3+

Programs installed:
Nagraedit 4.1 (final)
Cas Interface Studio 8.6c
Mediaportal TVserver 1.0.1
FireDTV software

1) I have got the CAM bk from FireDTV ‘CI’ utility
2) Downloaded an archive from chatterbox toolbar > Files and Fixes \ Card Software \ Funcard AU and Normal.
3) I have opened the following file ‘TW.bn11’ with nagra > data editor > Data Space and edited the bk to match my zeta cam (joker 0.79) and saved the file as ‘TW.bin’
4) So now I have a ‘TW.bin’ (which I created) and a ‘CryptHexTW-v3.hex’ (found in the archive downloaded from chatterbox)
5) Next I load up the Cas Interface Studio > Smartcard > Card Programmer - with only the card inserted into the cas3+, and now I’m stuck as the whole cas studio program is in English except the ‘card programmer’ utility’?

Any help from here would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

That threw me first time too - I'd selected English but the Card Programmer still came up in Italian! Have a look in the drop down menus (I think) and you should be able to find the option to change it to English. Once that's done, it makes a lot more sense, and remembers it for next time too.

Cheers C.Stu,

***so update for stage 5 is: click on - opzioni > lingua > and select language***

ok, so now I can read it, I need 3 files?

1) Flash Memory
2) Internal EEPROM
3) External EEPROM

so i'm guessing that the CryptHexTW-v3.hex file is the flash one, but what is the TW.bin? and where do i get the 3rd file from?

cheers

As far as i can remember (haven't flashed mine for a while) You only flash files 1 and 3.. The "internal EEPROM" doesn't get flashed, apparently it's for PPV which isn't supported..

The guide in the D/L section explains all of this. and make sure you have the latest version of the CryptTW-v3.hex file.. Dated November 08.. It's in the D/L section.

thanks for ur help so far, but still not working - recap:

1) I have got the CAM bk from FireDTV ‘CI’ utility
2) Downloaded an archive from chatterbox toolbar > Files and Fixes \ Card
Software \ Funcard AU and Normal.
3) I have opened the following file ‘TW.bn11’ with nagra > data editor >

4) So now I have a ‘TW.bin’ (which I created) and a ‘CryptHexTW-v3.hex’
(found in the archive downloaded from chatterbox)
5) Next I load up the Cas Interface Studio > Smartcard > Card Programmer - with only the card inserted into the cas3+
6) Click Erase
7) Load the ‘CryptHexTW-v3.hex’ file in the “flash memory” box and load
the ‘TW.bin’ in the “External EEprom” box, click Write and it completes it
with no errors
8) Load FireDTV Viewer, run a new channel scan, find over 300 channels but only the FTA ones work, so I left it on SKY Sports for an hour and it did not update

Any ideas on what I’m doing wrong?

Cheers
