Default Future? Slingbox?

Just wondering could the future be slingboxes and slingcaptures?

Say c/s has been stopped by Sly and VM has moved to a better encryption-either IPTV/nagra 3

Would the future then be this-One person subscribes to a full package, connects the slingbox up. The people they are wanting to share with have a slingcapture so that people across the country can use your signal

Well that may have sounded like a) bulls**t or b) confusing

Also say I have multiple slingboxes/slingcaptures, could I run my signal on multiple TV's?

The slingbox software would need reverse engineering - its one box - one catcher.

I have seen reports its possible to multicast a SB but its not simple and details were not given.

Not unless you have some insane amount of broadband bandwidth capacity available to you. A SB will grab whatever outbound bandwidth is available. Mine doesnt run terribly well on a 400k outbound connection - you are probably looking at 1-2 meg per connection for decent streaming

If you are interested in the SB capabilities have a look at the slingbox community forum - theres some interesting stuff on there and the guys who use them day in day out would probably be able to answer technical questions better than I can from my limited experience with one.

Hi
I have seen a sling catcher working very impressive I was in cyprus watching it in action they had all the channels from sky and it was perfect i was told it needed a 1 meg down load

the funny thing was all the locals comming in to see ITV 4 as they can not get it even with a 4 meter dish??
