rite i forgot what i set user name and pass with ambit config tool so cant change mac can u change mac via serial cable but when i do all i get is a load of ))))))))

then says done running infinite any help would be great thanks

If you're getting crap when you connect your MAX232 ensure that it is the correct way about and connected to the four pins nearest to the rear of the modem.

yea its the rite way far as i no if i put it the other way i get no light on the max232

Have you set the correct bit rate in your terminal emulator ie 115200 bps, and make sure that flow control is disabled too.
