Default STARVIEW newbie - sort of

Hi all,

I am looking to buy the new SV4. I do have some experience of these boxes because my dad has the old school SV1 box and I updated the firware for him years ago. I know about the 1570 menu and also how to update keys manually.

My questions is:

I have just installed VM box in my property and want to know if I need to do anything to stop talkback?

I know I need to get a splitter and can set up the SV4 box but just worried that the company will find out I have 'another box' in my property.

All help appreciated.

Thanks

So can I just literrally plug in the SV$ box and good to go? nothing need doing to the VM box?

I read somewhere that you need to leave the VM on so the cable company know you are using the service???

you will need to flash the box with the latest firmware

copy and paste below in to google click on first link you will find the firmware there

it's wise to leave your sub box on put it in your bedroom/kids room etc

hello there. sorry to hijack your thread sir but I have the same querys really.

I have downloaded the s1.07.bin file. i have my usb stick at the ready. i have bookmarked that thread for newbies. what I need now is for some kind soul to provide me with a link for a site that will sell me a genuine star view 4 the box super usb. are wizard satellite genuine?

also, another wee techy query I have....does the star view update the Vm codes automatically? as mates of mines have had issues with needing to find codes all the time.

Cheers

FCB
