I've had a lot of good advice and help on this forum for my Eurovox; just want to say thanks to everyone who has taken the time to help sort me out.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- The only problems I am having at the moment and would like some help with are- 1) When I switch the box on I get a signal of around 82% then after a few minutes the picture disappears and the "No Signal" message appears. The picture reappears after about 5 minutes but the signal drops to around 72%. How can I stop the picture from disappearing and improve the signal level? 2) I'm getting a jumpy picture on frequency 283.000mhz (setanta etc) and 547.000mhz (sky movies sci-fi etc) with a 60% signal. Tried tweaking them 0.5mhz either side but no improvement. The other frequencies seem to be giving a good picture but I would watch the sport and movies more often. Regards. |

Difficult one this because it could be so many things causing it,first thing to try would be to connect directly to the incoming feed and see how it goes, that would rule out if any splitters etc are causing the problem,if its still the same directly connected then it might be best to try a signal booster, most people get them from Argos, they are very reasonably priced...if you are subcribed to a cable company how are the pictures from your set top box ? if you are not, then the feed cable might be a bit dodgy, not much you can do about that if your not subscribed, you have no way of getting it checked out, thats why its always best to have at least a basic sub ..... The 60% signal is just not good enough, you need to be around the 80% mark really,it might be that the channels are doing maintainence some days, causing it but if its permanent then a booster might help,or it might not,its worked for a lot of members ....

Them boxes did have tuner issues and if it happens on certain freq could well be faulty tuner but before that do what telecom69 has advised check all connections aswell if it is on a sub box the same get virmin to come out and sort it out for u as it will prob be wiring or a connection fault somewhere.
