Hello Guys,
I am very new to this. I bought this Eurovox V-Max box in April last year and it worked completely fine in my previous house where I had to keep updating the 54 01 codes all the time. However I have now moved houses and even after putting the codes the picture keeps breaking for every channel and sometimes get no signal displayed on the screen. I went to the guy last month whom I bought this from and he update the box with some latest firmware and it works fine at my friends, family and other places and does not ask for any codes anymore and auto updates the codes, however, doesnt still work at mine(works but the picture keeps breaking and get a chirping sound all the time) At mine the picture keeps breaking and get a chirping sound all the time and on all the 300 odd channels I get (mostly no signal on the channels) The frequency keeps fluctuating a lot from say 85 to 3 and back up again. I have tried attenuators, equilizers but nothing worked. I have checked all the connections were nice and tight. I have tried with and without the splitters. Can please somebody suggest what I need to do to get this working without the picture breaking and sound chirping???? Thanks in advance. Regards. |

You've tried "attenuators, equilizers" so, have you tried an Amplifier (booster) ? Got be worth a shot, less than a Tenner from Argos..

You wont believe me when I say this but initially i thought there was a problem with my scart lead and I tried using 5 different scart leads... The thing is when the frequency stay at 80 or above I get good picture and sound but as soon as it fluctuates I get the chirping sound and picture breaking...

Hi can anybody please help. We have a eurovox 5100 pvr. The first problem is after doing many power scans we still cannot get sky movies premier, is there any way to find this channel without having to keep doing power scans. Second question is we have installed a Hard drive into the box and it records but can you watch one channel while watching another channel
Thanks Berni |

Well I have got the TV and the broadband from my supplier (V****n). The set top box from the supplier works perfectly fine and so does my internet. However, the point is that my supplier has put a 4db equalizer at the back of the box. I have tried with and wthout the 4db equalizer but still doesnt work. I did have a proble with the supplier before wherein there were some pre and post errors passing through but they resolved that.

i have had this prob before but only on around 10 channels, i found that the problem was the actual extention coax running from my living room to my kitchen, problem only happened in kitchen, all connections was good but i think it was old poor cable.. Everything now works fine once i changed cable. Have you got it on an extention coax or directly into v****n socket.

I have tried both actually. The reason is that the main line that comes in my house need to have a splitter for the broadband and the tv to work together. I first thought it might be a problem with the splitter or something and thats why i connected it directly to the main line coming in my house. The one thing I havent tested is that when I tried it with the 4 db equalizer setup in my house from v****n I attached that directly to my bov rather than having a cable between the equalizer and the box, but I dont think that would make any difference, would it?
