Default Pace box, unlooping/reprogramming OSC

Hi guys,

First time poster but Ive been reading the forum for some time now trying to get to grips with all the technical side of things
Ive read through the Angel newbie guide and I have myself an old Pace Di4100 with the original smart card. Ive checked the status and it says "no t-stream" also its a ROM11 B0D. Thats about as far as ive got, I dont own the programmer etc myself, and I was looking for help with someone who does have one. Whether they would be willing to reprogram the card for me? if i just sent it to them myself, or would that be more hassle and it be easier for me to just buy the card readers myself?

Also, ive been thinking about going down the PC route instead of the STB, getting hold of a budget 1501 DVB-C card and using a softcam to get the channels, would this be easier than the STB? or just as much hassle for the pay off?

Any help would be amazing guys and Id just like to say thank you and keep up the good work

Hi

You could do the card but you would need to unloop the card and get box details so you would need an unlooper and a proggy as a start, but before you got to determine if your tuner is good or wether you have a live signal cos "No T-Stream" is box is not receiving signal.

If you have live signal and its your tuner thats f**ked then you would have to have that sorted before you try to do your card I would think.

Dont know about the pc route so cant comment.

Regards

Firstly, welcome to the forum!

It won't be a 4100, it would be a 4010 or a 4001. Please confirm which.

It wouldn't be a hassle for me to help you do your card as such no, but it would benefit you to learn this process yourself for the future, should you need to do it again!

You can buy serial "pheonix" programmers cheaply from eBay, i did this myself and baught a violet pheonix programmer, it works like a charm and cost me £12 brand new!

You will also need an Unlooper, I baught MikeData's Dual Unlooper, as I use both rom 10 and 11 Modified Original Smart Cards, also known as MOSC cards. My rom 11 was also rev B0D, and this unlooper popped it open in 7 seconds!

Also, Cable on the PC, is likely to prove alot more difficult as a challenge if you have not 'played' with cable before, I myself have yet to venture forth and tinker with dvb-c cards and the like, soon though

Its also expensive, comparably to a pace box, given all the hardware you may need for cable on the pc can come to more than £200 when I last checked.

Any more questions, fire em away

Thanks alot for the info guys, luckily I have found someone from the forums who is going to help me out, I am still considering buying the gear myself though so as to learn to do it aswell in the future as you said.. seems the best option but for now i'll let the pros handle it and then just get another cheap box to tamper with

Thanks again guys
