Hi,
Just bought the 1500CI+ and would really appreciate it if you could give me access to the HOW TO...video's. I don't really know what this RX is capable of yet or what I am actually going to do with it. So far I am happy to use it for FTA channels (It replaced my old Nokia 9600), but maybe I would like to experiment with a CAM. I am off out now, so will take a look at the forum later today. Thanks! |

hi, welcome to the forum. the receiver you have is a very popular one it can be patched to open the channels without the cost of cards or cams they are very versatile and work with any cam without conflict, if patched you must turn the patch off when useing a cam, the card reader is multicrypt and if you want to use a digialb or art card for premiership football and extra film chns etc: these no need for a cam to use the cards in. if you wish to use cams the dragon cam is the best with most support and is very easy to programme, always remember a dragon cam and programmer will cost you as much as the receiver did. thats one reason patching is the cheapest way to go, and the model you have, has first class support. once you have viewed the video files you will see just what these receiverd are capable of, if you need more help or info, ask away the members will always help. |

Hi Clipper,
Thanks for the info. This is all new to me!! I just downloaded the HOW TO... video's and they look really informative. I was thinking of a Dragon CAM, but as you said, they are not cheap. This is a much more appealing idea. I have just ordered a null modem cable from ebay. I only installed the receiver yesterday and am still finding my way around the software. One thing I would like to know is if there is a way to organize the channels in satellite order? I thought about grouping them by using the favourite menu, but I don't think it is designed for that purpose. I still have to convert my dish from using an actuator to USALS. That will take a little effort because I will need to replace the bracket that is attached to the dish and increase the length of the pole that is attached to the mast. My dish as a 1.2m by the way; an "old" John Levicks (I may have spelled that incorrectly). Their factory used to be just down the road from here! Sorry this is a tad long. Once I start typing I never know when to stop!! Thanks again for the welcome. |

hi, are you going to convert from 36v to diseqc, if you are why not use a v-box that converts diseqc into 36v it's cheaper and easier than changing the motor and brackets. lincsat might help you with how to set up the channels, i'm not sure on your model iv'e got the tm 7755ci and when you scan the sats it sets the channels from no1 to what ever the number of chns: on each sat. but to put them in the order i want is a bit time consumming. and i have to move the chns: one at a time to make them stay where i put them, if i use the favourite menu, when i change sats they return to the previous settings. |
