Question What DVB-C cards work with Vista HTPC & VMC

Hi I am a newbie to all this so please be patient if I am asking the obvious questions.

My intention is to get V*M HD channels on my Vista HTPC, Ideally I would like to use VMC to view the channels but it depends on how expensive it is.

I have been reading around the posts and, as I understand them, to get V*M on my Vista HTPC I need DVB-C card (obviously)
  • Sofcam (program to emulate a cam and card, but this will not work with VMC)
  • or a CAM preflashed with Joker 0.7
  • A Funcard
  • A Card programmer to set up the same box key etc.. on the card
One of the posts advised to start with the card and sofcam solution, and one of the standalone viewer programs, and upgrade to the hardcam solution later to use VMC, if required.

That leads me to a few questions:
  1. What DVB-C cards are compatible with Windows Vista? (is it only FloppyDTV)
  2. which of these will also work with VMC?
  3. Where can i get prices for the DVB-C Cards, Cams and Funcards, as for me cost is a issue?
I would really appreciate any advice anyone can give me on this

Thanks

Question Re: What DVB-C cards work with Vista HTPC & VMC

Further to my post above

I have installed a tt 1500c card and DVBviewer and tried the uk bruteforce transponder files for the l'pool VM area but picked up no VM signal or channels.

I have installed a Cable TV amp - and am now getting a improved signal during the scan but the dbvviewer software is still not detecting any channels on the the UK Cable or UK bruteforce transponder lists or any of the transponder list the kind guys on this site had sent me.

I am at a loss of what to try next. any suggestions anyone?
