Default Modem Signal Issues

I cant seem to get my modem connected to my xbox360 working. Its upstairs and ive been using that connection for a while upstairs but since it went down i disconnected it and downstairs the connection works on that modem when i go upstairs it just stays on Ranging it says locked then goes back to Ranging. What are the recommended signal levels?

Receive Power-6.4 dBmVSignal to Noise ratio39.9 dB

and i had

Receive Power-2.7 dBmVSignal to Noise ratio40.3 dB

Do they look alright or too low?

Thanks

Why would it be stuck on Ranging then? I cant seem to understand. Was working previously if my signal levels are ok and it works downstairs but not in the attic. I tried it in the upstairs room before it goes to the attic and it works there. Its split again in the attic and the eurovox works there perfect good signal on it aswell just the modem not locking on removed the splitter and connected directly still wont lock. My lil bro doing my head in cuz he cant go on Live on his 360. Lol.

No im connecting it direct to laptop and spoofing Mac just to get it working but its going to go through the router once its working. Tried connecting to router and changed mac on that aswell but still same on Ranging.

What is your upstream power?

Stuck on ranging is normally an upstream problem.

It's just the signal going back in the other direction.

You will probably need an active return signal booster. Get the Konig one if you do.

Status Ranging
Mode TDMA
Transmit Power 55.0 dBmV (But Does goes down to 46.0 dBmV aswell)

Critical R002.0 No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out (US 2)
Critical R002.0 No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out (US 1)
Critical R007.0 Unicast Ranging Received Abort Response - Re- initializing MAC
Critical R002.0 No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out (US 3)

I believe it is the Upstream can someone confirm for me please? I think u was right cockneysean. How much are those signal boosters? I seen some on ebay for like £25 is that the right one's im not sure im looking at the right booster. Would a forward path attenuator work? I have one of them lying about somewhere.
Thanks
