hi guys
need some help got an ntl 250 modem from just before the virgin change over i am after the programms and infomation i need to change the mac i already have the mac i want to use as i have a mate who works as an engineer for virgin the modem has already been altered once by my mate but it has been blocked from what i can make out, the modem has no sync light, i have an old modem that still seems to be running and works on the feed cable so i no its not the feed the old modem has a power light, an ethernet light and a blinking ready light and before anyone asks the hacked modem is runnin at 20mbps hense the reason i want to get it running as the other modem is only running 2mbps any help would be much apreciated cheers Last edited by james.mccartney6; 08-05-09 at 03:34 AM. |

i think he wants to know how to change the mac address on the modem,
first things first what firmware is on it..? check at 192.168.100.1 <-- then get back to us |

Sounds like an infinite modem by the lights. You will need a program called Am(cho) modem config tool 0.973 to change the mac address on it.

Save all the messin about and upgrade to Haxorware.
It wins hands down against all other firmwares. |

It defo does my infinite keeps getting booted off but only kept that for test purposes use haxorware all the time now. Haxoware all the way for me aswell. U can fiddle about with it alot more and is very user friendly. Amazing firmware always updated aswell quiet often unlike infinite.

Yeah seriously, all that fuxing about with amchobit config tools and whatever, when you can run haxorware that does it all in one box.
My mate called me up the other day, problems with his modem that he got from some local dude. No problem, I say, I'll be right over. Got there, first time I used infinte, what a load of crap, NO ability to change the HFC MAC from the gui! Whats the point of having a gui thats got about as much use the one virgin put on there? |
