You need the board.

DO NOT CONNECT IT LIKE IT IS!!!!!

The signal coming out of your PC is 12v. Basically the MAX232 is a transformer. It drops the voltage down to safe levels for microcircuits, and ups them from the microcircuits to your PC's normal levels.

If you go direct, you will kill the BCM chip. Dead.

been going through all the guides and i think it would be easier to buy this one>>
Virgin / Ambit 255 cable modem with Haxoware S/W. 10rc3.

do you recon buying this would save me alot of hastle, and do you recon its very easy for me to do, sort of got my head around mac address and swappin the with ppl outside your area.
