Can you tell me whether your box has a metal "shield" thats soldered over the top of the tuner boxes?

I got a 4001 a while back that had this, perhaps heat "shield" in place over the tops of the tuners, why I would not know, but after removal, my box stopped randomly freezing/rebooting.

I assume therefore it was a heat issue as the box is also less hot in general now, than it was before removal, and its still working today!

When you take the lid off, the tuners will be situated near where you connect your cable feed to the box, but inside of the box rather than outside, like the feed connection.

They will be two large silver rectangular boxes, they usually sit directly next to each other on the PCB.

If you need any help, lemme know, I'll walk you through it.

(Post here rather than by PM though please )

Provided you have definately cut TB, there is literally no way for Virmin to know what you are doing, the box is "invisible" without talkback, as this removes its callback (phone-home) abilities.

Go to: Techwatch: Satellite TV forums, FTA, Cable, Hardware, & Tech forums - Powered by vBulletin

Now scroll down, and head to Cable section, look for the FTA Section, you will then find a sticky.

'Some Download Links'

You could also *Search*
