Hi im looking to get a dreambox but i have read a few websites that say there are alot of chineese fakes, is there anyway to know a legit site?

I read that dreambox.org.uk sell chineese copies, is this true?

Any dreambox 500s will be a fake as they don't make them anymore. If you can fine a dreambox 800hd at £250.00 then it will be fake as the originals are £449. If the box's are well under the normal selling price then stay clear.

Not realy sure to be honest, not one thats too expensive, just want one to compare to my technomate 5400.

There completley differents machines mate, Dreambox are intended to be linked to your internet feed. There are for a couple of reasons one is card sharing. The other is so you can download different applications like weekly epg's, webcam viewing, email clients. You can also stream the feed around your house to any pc that is linked to your router. 500s has card reader only, 600 is a pvr with option of in built hard driver, this has card reader and usb slots. 7000 series are huge but have camslots and various card readers. 7025 I think its twin tuners. 800 series is hd with pvr and card reader plus usb and 8000 has 4 x tuners slots and 4 cams slots plus dvd player and hard drive. Do you need cam slots? If not why not look at 600pvr running enigam 2 if you don't need hd.

Let some other have there opnions also.

I had the last couple of Dreamboxes from _www.satstore.co.uk

Hes an approved Dream Multimedia retailer so you can guarantee you will get a genuine box from him

Or go for a secondhand 7000s. I dont think they were ever cloned and they work very well. Also they are cheaper than the 7020.

I think the clones are fine tbh only prob ive encountered is the power supply not working but u can replace it for pennies

also the other know issue is the gemini image with the so called bomb that would brick your box

I personally have had loads of clones and all work fine
