Right i have two modems, one subbed and one cloned. They are both doing my nut in as they keep disconnecting.
I have no idea why they keep doing this. Sometimes my TV connection goes with it too. Then it will come back on when ever it likes. Im not forcing a config on the cloned modem. The subbed modem goes down with it though and this has happend before but Virgin decided to send out an engineer, ended up cancelling as it started working again. Anyone else experiencing this in the Leeds area? |

This is just really doing my head in now. It looks like Virgin have some how cut down my power to my house so i dont recieve so much signal strength.
Would a booster improve this? I used to get 80% ish on the Eurovox. Now i can only come online with 1 modem online. |

Well its odd how its just happening for when they upgrade the 2mb to 10mb. I know i really cant complain bout getting the services i get but i do have a sub to their lowest bb package and it has been going off alot recently.
Really annoys me it does. I might give them a ring. Where i have my splitter is right in my room coming from the little box outside so its like impossible to have it boosted from outside. :

Right i think the problem with my connection is that they have turned down my signal strength. Since i have a tv box downstairs and thats next to the virgin omnibox, this one is unaffected. I am able to connect at this moment in time by having 1 additional cable hardware connected. Which is my cloned modem.
But i also have 2 other devices to connect. This worked all fine and dandy about a week ago :@ I do think its my signal levels though. I have my cloned modem reporting that the downstream power is -23dbmv. i believe this is whey out of line than what it should be. agreed? I also relised that my signal from my tv went from 80% when all devices were connected to 73-77% with just my eurovox connected in my room. I have purchased a Konig Cable Booster from eBay. That yellow box contraption that i hope will solve the problem. If no Virgin will be getting a mean call from me cos its p****n me off dearly. |

Yeah last night was only able to have 2 things max on my signal. The box downstairs and my eurovox upstairs with just one splitter down in the omnibox.
Woke up this morning connected everything back up. Signal back to normal, all devices working as last week. Still ordered a Konig booster as the signal could do with being a bit better as i still have the odd disconnection and chirp from the tv. So i deffo think it was a signal problem :

Well i got my Booster through yesturday from eBay. I gotta say it has boosted the signal amazingly.
I was getting around -24.5 dbmv of downstream power and my SNR was around 24 to 27. Now i have my booster on, my Eurovox is from 85 to 97% and my modem is at -3dbmv with downstream power and the SNR is around 32. Has deffo made an improvement and all devices are online. |
