Default Change Vendor ID - CVC error

Hi Ive got an Ambit 200 modem flashed with sigma 1.28, Ive used the amchobit program to change the mac to a working 20MB mac (other ambit255 modem I have, so i know it works)

problem is, it locks onto downstream and upstream channel fine, downloads sum jibberish name config file BUT doesnt let me access the internet?

It comes up with the CVC error, which I did a search and its because the modem model is different from the one required out of the config file.

How do i go about changing it? is this done in terminal?

any help would be appreciated. thanx

Hi.

I think the config file is reading jibberish because it might be a dynamic config.

If you type in 192.168.100.1:1337 this will get you into the page so you can change your mac address and config file.

Hope this helps.

Lofty.

hi smurf, ive tried that and its still doing the same thing. I think its something with the modem and cable itself... It locks onto downstream fine, its just the upstream frequency it doesnt lock onto.

Ive left it on overnight to try lock on but still doing the same thing.

My downstreams locked onto 402750000 (pure ntl)
downstream power is -14dBmV

upload stream not locked
uploadstream power 50dBmV

Ive tried reflashing the modem, connected directly to cable still nothing :S

CVC validation failure is due to the FW specified in the config being downloaded by secure SW download....or it's attempting to.

cd /
cd n/d
enable bpi23 0
write
reboot

fixed
