Autoserve an OLD config file!!!!!

run hyperterm choose winstock 192.168.100.1

enter user and pass

paste it in

anyone got anywhere with this?

more importantly, (for me) has anyone got anywhwere with this internal lease dropping?

Will old configs work? I thought that if that was the case, you would be able to make your own config file.

I've always found that if the config file changes that you are autoserving, your connection stops working and you have to redownload the new config file?

dont know about that but old config files do certainly workwhen your using them the way i've described

editing the old config files works. i.e. speed.

some modems i have had on for 4 weeks. others loose this internal lease thingy. there seems to be no pattern either, it just does it when it wants to.
like i said, some are working without any problems.

there has been talk however of making your own configs and apparently there cvc signed.

but, this method in hax kinda gets in assigned config from the ftfp but just doesnt use it, it uses the one stored in flash

Not in my experience unless I'm doing something wrong. I've tried to set the speed with a config editor before and the modem just reboots and reboots.

If this was the case surely then you could just enter the up and down speeds as 0 for unrestricted bandwidth?

well, i loaded up the 50mb config and put the d/s and u/s speed in to a old docsis 1 config. the upload was 3mb but download was only about 24mb.

i upped the u/s and got 5.5mb up and it maxed at that.

thats as far as i got and lost interest after that.

beleive me, editing old configs does work

when it does that, just repair the connection in windows or ipconfig release/renew.

this one has been on since about 4pm now and it aint lost it once.

i have 2 modems on my perm router and they dont loose any connectivity at all
