Default Interview with Branson

Interesting general interview with branson, based on questions sent in by Digg users.

About 18 minutes in there is an intersting comment regarding Bittorent throttling in the UK

gits.. i'm not with them anymore.. moved to an area about 1/2 mile from the nearest cable but i do miss the speeds!.. still don't see the point in them pushing 50mb if they penalise the users who put that speed to the best use. (i'm not talking illegal downloads, rather streaming video, spotify / napster etc).. surely with a service like iplayer, Virgin should be talking to them, to take a cut of the license fee. That way the BBC can put out HD content knowing there's atleast one provider capable of delivering their content.

Yeah. Well Virgin are now going to be trialing 200mbit bb too. That will be the fastest commercial broadband availble in the world.
Which will be interesting if we are able to use it effectivly.
Throttling is stupid though, why cant it be like O2 or Sky MAX where its Truely Unlimited :|

agreed, i'm with Be* and although i'm 3 miles from the exchange, i still get around 7mb. With it being truely unlimited, i'm pretty sure over a 24 hour period, i wouldn't be far behind current 20mb virmin users if downloading was constant. (due to throttling)

Love the question on virgin joints , yet another brand that would be open to cloning , people would clone his strain just as they did his modems etc
